Residential Work

Private Residence, Los Altos, CA       Designer: Richard Brayton
After the owners of a property in Los Altos completely gutted and rebuilt the interior of their house, the owners and the architect invited Denning Cabinetry to complete the vision. Denning Cabinetry's skilled craftsman built the kitchen and bedroom cabinets from quartered, book-matched Anigre. Consistent with their attention to all details, the Denning Cabinetry team also constructed the painted casework in a way that displayed their precision and expertise. To complete the parts of the job requiring the integration of stone and metalwork, the Denning Cabinetry team worked with long time associates in the metal and stone trades.

This home was featured on the Dwell Magazine " Homes of Silicon Valley" Tour of 2012

The owners of this Hillsborough house have worked with Denning Cabinetry over a ten year period to implement their vision of the perfect home. Initially, Denning Cabinetry built and installed all of the cabinets for a new kitchen in Rift-Sawn White Oak. The next phase included a family room remodel with new media cabinetry. The final step in the process was a major remodel of the living room, entry,  and master bedroom. Denning Cabinetry provided all the cabinets and millwork for the living room and coordinated the fabrication and custom finish of the metal fireplace. In the master bedroom Denning Cabinetry provided the custom bedroom furniture including a remotely controlled concealed flat-screen that rises from the footboard and swivels for viewing from all points in the bedroom and the soaking tub.

This kitchen remodel is notable for the use of custom enamel painted exteriors with plastic laminate interiors-- the ultimate in durability. Denning Cabinetry fabricators used a laminate color for the drawer interiors that closely matched the clients' collection of art deco glassware. The island has a stainless steel work surface. The perimeter counters are solid Maple with a stainless steel backsplash; the front edges repeat the theme with a stainless inlay strip. The custom aluminum and glass doors for the upper cabinets are also designed to showcase the clients' glassware.

Residential kitchen, wine cellar, bar and bath cabinets     Design by R. Koll
This project was for the client's guest residence which they use for entertaining large parties. We worked with the designer and the chef to build an efficient kitchen that facilitated the serving of large groups and  met the client's design goals for that space. In addition Denning Cabinetry built a wine cellar with a warm, traditional, atmosphere that provides an attractive access to their wine collection.

Tin ceiling for antique bar addition      Design by Denning Cabinetry
After one of our favorite clients purchased a  one-hundred year old hotel bar (less the hotel), he contacted Denning Cabinetry to renovate the bar's decayed portions and fit it with modern plumbing and appliances. We later built matching display cases with custom uplighting for the owner's antique bottle collection. To complete this project, Denning Cabinetry designed and installed a tin ceiling, transforming a newly built ballroom sized room into a relic of the Old West.

San Francisco Residence
This suite of furniture graces a large residence with stunning views of the Golden Gate. We built the sunburst Ash and Walnut coffee table, the Maple and Walnut traditional British game table and the Anigre bookcases for the living and dining rooms. We built the solid Anigre partner's desk for the home office, and we built the mirrored, Mahogany armoire for the Master Suite.
